the recall with the cruise control and all that stuff, until i can get it in to fix it, what can i do to prevent it from starting a fire. can i simply pull the fuse for the cruise control? i plan to take it in asap but i have to redo the brake system first. since i now have power going throughout the whole truck, i don't want to risk blowing up a brand new engine. thanks,
chris
just dont use the cruse control on it, its not gonna blow up in flames just sitting there, i took mine into the shop in october, the parts wernt released at the time so they just unpluged the cruse harness, its on the drivers side under the hood by the master cyl.
The letter I got said it could cause a fire whether or not vehicle was running, whether or not the c/c was being used. The letter says to take it in so they can unplug it, you can unplug it from the master cylinder. If you are redoing the brakes, you can disconnect the battery cable and that would make sure it wouldn't burn up too.
Dealerstealer sure did a messy job of replacing the "parts" looks like a lot tape to me.
