I have a 6.5" lift on my truck and running 37" tires. SO.
It rides like a three legged goat. Kind of like this guy.
I have been told by a few people now that the Pro-Comp MX6 shocks are great. Supposed to give an almost stock ride. I figured someone on here could offer some valuble info PLEASE.
The shocks on the truck now are pro-comp 3000 or some cheezy mess like that. If you don't know much about those shocks, please feel free to tell me what you have and how they ride.
I've got 5100's on my truck, I think they're just the stock replacements. I believe the 5150's and 7100 series are the giganto lift shocks.
IMO changing the shock won't do a whole lot for changing the ride. If you really want to alter the way it rides you need to alter the spring rates, then choose a dampener to augment it.

I agree, the spring rate has more to do with the ride than the shocks... I think the shocks primary function is to prevent the springs or leafs from oscilating, while the compression strength of the springs or leafs more directly effect the ride quality. This is why the smoothest riding vehicles in the world don't have any load carrying capacity... Cadillac, Lincoln, Lexus etc.
I have what you are asking about. Yhe ride is a little stiffer than stock. When I first installed the lift, it was rough now the spring packs seem to be settling in, it's alot better now! The Mx6 do help for bumps. I mostly drive highway and have them set on 3. Off road it's great though. One thing about running 37's offroad, take it;s easy they will rub.
