we have been looking for this ever since the post, we have seen this tool somewhere, but we can not place
today we removed the center caps on the F150 that was the one we used for evaluation before we bought a batch of them for the family we us an old pair of fence pliers that have the same basic profile, this is one of several that we have, only problem is that the pliers are 50+ years old and no longer made in this style
we used the pliers and a rag and had no problems nor scratches
since we now have 32 various F150 and f250's on order we want to put one of these in each truck as well in the shops and garages
any clue what this is? or where to get some

Did you try to give 4.6 Ranger a PM?
I tried that and by trying to lever it, I scratched the paint on the wheel. A chunk of paint chipped off!!! Def the best bet is use the tool that FORD gives you...
we really have a bad feeling about these covers
the lug wrench supplied by Ford is just a straight lenght wrench with a "L" shaped lug wrench head with a piece of thin plastic or rubber, whatever is the cover, its rock hard. on the point end opposite the lug wrench head
we tried to pop the cover with the Ford supplied wrench, but the wrench just about lays flat on the rim, we feel that we will be scratching the chrome clad rim if we use. The fence pliers were just one of the various tools that we tried and we actually felt happy with.
understand that we are use to the 1990 Dodges that we all currently have, they mostly have a cover that only covers the lugs and we normally use a pair of water pump pliers or hook nose pliers to pop the covers. those with the full wheel covers which a flat bladed screwdriver will remove
the tool that 4.6ranger posted looked ideal, I guess we could have a machine shop make but they would most likely cost more than they would if we could buy off the shelf
any thoughts
