axle/spring swap?
thinking of swapping a dana 60 rear and 3/4 ton rear springs onto my 1979 f-150 4x4. my current 9 inch is starting to hate life. i have an extra ford dana 60 with 4.10 gears. I would want to swith the 60 to 3.50 to match my current f-150 front (and for better gas mileage). Where is the best place to buy gears for this swap? Will the dana 60 carrier with the 4.10 gears accomodate the 3.50s?
also saw some 2700 lb rated rear springs in jc whitney that fit 79 f-150s. has anyone used these or would they recommend these springs as an upgrade? if not, what is a good way to upgrade?

I would think that the rears you are looking for would be readily available. One other thing you may want to keep in mind after you get the gearing straightened out is you'll want to run the same diameter tires front and rear.
