offroading vs laws

does anybody know anything about the laws for people offroading? what can cops do? etc etc etc?

examples...
snow hills in parking lots... its a private lot... can i get into trouble for climbing those?
driving threw farmers feilds, during winter, i wouldnt do it in the summer unless i knew the person...
feilds that the pipelin owns, where houses and such cant be build that long strip of nothingess that the pipelins are underneath...
city property... hahaha i wont go there but yeah?

i know a couple places i can go to offroad "legally" uncles farm, out by kramer, dad works there they have a huuuge feild to test equipment.. but once in a while ill see something and go check it out!

anyone know what can or cannot happen?

Unregistered dirt bikers go trespassing in a gravel pit across from my yard and because their so dammed noisy I get the RCMP to get rid of them. It sounds like a chainsaw convention on steriods.
As far as off roading that would be a pleasant change, better than two stroker`s racket. Don`t know about what the law is but probably best to go where you have permission to go. It`s all legal till you get caught I guess.

It is my understanding that private property is off limits to anyone unless the person has written permission from the owner for doing stuff like that, it also includes driving on private property while hunting and snowmobiling. That's what the DNR officer told us once.

For private property you must have permission. As long as the owner says it is ok, you wont really get in trouble for that. Now crown land, I am not quite sure. I know the cops used to tell us to leave the old town gravel pits once, but never really gave us trouble about anything else other then that one time. Then again we also had beers with us and were underage, that was probably why.

This reminds me of a story.A guy I know farms just north of Regina.A couple of years back he gets a knock on his door from someone who decided to go 4x4ing out in one of his fields and got stuck and was wondering if he could pull him out with the tractor.Instead of pulling him out, he phoned the RCMP and made him pay for all the damage he did to the field.I haven't been out on any lakes this winter but I used to go ice fishing and do a lot of 4x4ing looking for places to fish.Sometimes you can get some pretty deep snow and no one cares. It helps if you know the lake though as you want to be certain the ice is good under you.

Thats funny about the guy calling the cops! I guess if some guy was out there wrecking my fields, as long as it wasnt summerfallow, I would be pissed too! I wouldnt care a whole lot if it was summerfallow though.
