IMO, either go OME or go with the lifetime pads from auto zone. I have used the lifetime pads on all my trucks and my caddy and when they wear out after about 60k the next pair is free.
LOOnatic, what was the difference when you put the Hawk brake pads on, for me the factory pads take quite a bit of pedal pressure to get the truck stoped.
Well my fluid was shot and i turned the front rotors when i put the new Hawk pdas on front and rear so its hard to isolate whether its the new pads or all the above.
I have the regular on the back and the heavyduty compound in the front.
The factory pads and fluid was shot at 30k miles but i tow my 14k pound 5th wheel alot.
Anyway, the hawk pads don't fade like the factory parts and i have been happy the last 20k miles.
Have an 04 F350 tow and plow with it. Switched to hawk super duty pads front and rear, much better braking than stock. Got mine at summit racing. Try hawks 1-800-542-0972 maybe thay have an update on the 05's.
