I tried sending you a private message but it said you have your inbox turned off so I'll just have to post this, but please delete this after you have read it since it isn't meant for everyone to read. Why are you closing every question related to engines and such? If you are going to segregate the one why dont you also close everything related to: increased Perfomance, Audio systems, heating/ventilation, anything electrical, anything related to 4x4 or offroad, anything involving suspension, cant forget tires, anything exhaust, anything aftermarket, bodywork? has it's own forum, cant talk about towing either, transmission? nope has it's own forum, no oil talk either. What's left to talk about for the trucks? If the question is related to a 1967-1979 truck why not leave it? The posters have the best access to a fast response to their problem by posting in this forum, I do agree with you closing some of the posts, but it seems like other ones that should be closed by the same standards as engines are being held to aren't... Just my opinion sir, but not every post about engines needs closed.

There was nothing wrong with my email link, but since you asked publically, I'll address this publically. Speaking only for myself, I try to do the best I can as a volunteer to promote the highest standards and make FTE's forums something we all can be proud of. Ken spent a great deal of his time and money to develop specialized sections devoted exclusively for these other topic areas. The idea of the forums is to build knowledge bases. My hope is that the questions which are better addressed there will be. I note that you seem to have useful knowledge in the area of engines and performance. Why not spend some quality time in those forums lending a helpful hand? Thanks for your understanding. ;-)
This is what I get when I try to E-mail you both the first time and again to reply: "StockMan's inbox is inactive.
Sorry, you cannot send private message to StockMan...
User StockMan has disabled his/her personal inbox." it might be my browser too because I've had problems E-mailing people almost every time I've tried, sometimes it shows me their E-mail address instead of keeping the true E-mail address anonymous.
I wouldn't have asked it publicly if i could have done it in private. I agree and am trying to think of the best for the forum too. Is there a way to just transfer the question to the specific forum and have it show that it was transfered? As if to copy and paste the question to the right forum, then close the question on the wrong forum to replies while providing a link to the post in it's proper forum? If not, oh well, just an idea. Keep up the good job you are doing. Can you E-mail my a E-mail address from your browser?
I stand corrected on my inbox and I apologize. The suggestion you make, while possible, is not feasible. It takes several minutes to move a thread and there is nothing automated to notify the original posters that the thread was moved. Yet, I and other moderators have done it countless times.
Is it really too much to ask for threads to be started in the other forums? I agree the line is not always brite on some subjects, and I agree that some posts which have stayed active here, probably should not have; bottom line: This is the most active forum with the best people, right? That's why everyone posts here because they know they will get a response usually within hours if not minutes. :-)
I don't want to create a situation where any one is gun shy to post their questions/answers, yet I hope some restraint will be used in posting. Carry on. ;-)
