gear ratios
Does anyone know what the maximum difference between front and rear gear ratios should be. I have a 3.50 front and am considering a 3.54 rear. The vehicle is used only for occasional weekend jaunts through mud. Any help would be appreciated.

That small of a differnce shouldnt be a problem. for starters, you're only going to be using the four wheel drive in less than perfect traction situations...plus, that small of a difference more than likely would never strain the drivetrain even if you were hooking up well. also, ive heard of hard core mud trucks that use a higher (lower numerically) gear ratio in the front end to help them spin faster...which theoretically helps pull it foward better and keep it from sinking...i dont know if it helps or not but thats just what ive heard.
