Transfer case shifter nylon bushing
I did a C6 to NP435 swap in my 76 Highboy and used a 65 2wd NP435. Im making a bracket for the shifter to mount to since the 2wd NP435 doesnt have the correct tailshaft for the shifter like the C6 did. While welding a nut to the bracket for the big 3/4" bolt to screw into, my dad left the nylon bushing on the bolt and it melted when he welded. I searched the forums, tryed motorhaven, BOTP, LMC, Dennis Carpenter, Bronco Graveyard and every catalog in my bathroom and I cant find the bushing. Shucks or Napa dont carry it and neither did the Ford dealer. I tryed hardware stores for something similar and had no luck.
This is the bushing that goes on the big bolt that holds the 4x4 shifter into the tailshaft of a 4wd C6 or NP435.
Theres never any 73-79 4x4's in the parts yards.
Anybody know where I can find this bushing? Or something I can substitute it for?
