clutch fork help

I have a 1978 Ford F100 w/ 300 Inline 6 and 3 spd transmission. The problem is my clutch fork keeps falling to the bottom of the bell housing opening. This makes it so the pedal doesn't depress all the way, clutch works great when fork is in the center of the opening. Why does it keep falling down? Truck has new clutch, throwout bearing, dust boot, and linkage.

There should be two retaining clips/springs that hold it. One on the bearing, and one on the pivot ball. Is the arm secured under both. With a mirror and flash light, you should be able to see in there good enough to tell.

It I were to guess at it, I would say it is the pivot ball, and the clip is broken, or missing.
