....can someone please tell me why, between starts y'day, the "wait to start" indicator quit coming on? ....and hasn't come on today, dispite the fact it "turns over and starts" great? TIA

The wait to start light is on a different circuit than the glow plugs so even though the wts light is not lit the glow plugs may still be operating. Have you checked the fuses/

Maybe it has a glow plug saver installed? Just what I'm trying to do this weekend if I could get some info.
Watch the voltmeter when you turn on the ignition. It should jump to near mid-scale, then drop back to 1/4-scale. At 1/4-scale, it's lighting up the glowplugs. Wait a few seconds, then whack the starter; should light right off. Glowplugs will be off when the gauge returns to mid-scale or above.
On edit... the fuse for the lamp is #17 on a truck, #18 on E-series.
I installed a glow plug saver and it works great. I used a thermostat from a hot water heater and it sits atop my HPOP. Wired it in the line that the PCM uses to ground the GPR to make it operate.
......Okay, Okay....I got egg all over my face guys..."Push the clutch all the way to the floor, then turn the key to On".....BINGO!! ....we got lites Houston!....
