Hello everyone... I am a little lost with this truck... I will first say...I have been working on cars and racecars for many years...however this is my first work on a powerstroke...so with that said...
I just got done doing head gaskets on this engine and have the engine running again...however I have a miss...It seems to idle fine...however when I rev the engine it misses...almost like it is down a cylinder.
I made a mistake when putting the rocker arms on wrong...and I did not know you had to set the engine to the 11:00 postition. I spun the engine over on the starter attempting to start it..(It never started)...then I found out about setting the valves. ... I set the valves...and now I have this miss.... Could I have bent bent valve(s)... or not enough force to bend them just on the starter?
What else can cause a miss.... Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
hey welcome to fte it about time you made it over here. if it was me i would get it up to operating temp pull vc's and watch the oil spouts to make sure all have oil shooting out. also watch the push rods while running to see if you have any bent. i think your fine just not hitting on all 8.
i think i asked you before but where are you in georgia.(i think you said by atlanta) see if you can find someone to do a cylinder contribution test also.
