Does anyone know of a tuner I could use for a 2006 Roush S/C F150 FX4.I dont need a dash mounted unit,Im just looking to eliminate the speed limiter and rev limiter. My PCM was already reflashed by roush, but they will not deviate from the factory set speed and rev limiters because of warranty issues. The S/C runs full at 6 pounds of boost with a K@N air intake.
What's the PCM code they flashed it to? Likely, their code can't be modified (one of their engineers told me last week that they use a memory location in the PCM that the aftermarket tuning software can't touch yet). Let me know the code and I'll verify one way or another. Also, I don't believe they remove the rev limit, but will remove the speed limiter on request.
The 5.4s don't really rev too high, with factory internals 5200 rpm or so (perhaps a bit higher, but not too much more for your 3-valve) would be about as high as you'd want to go...and a roots blower is more efficient at lower RPM.
Perhaps your rev limit is OK but your shift points are too low?
I run to 5200rpm on my centrifugal blower, but I've got crappy no-flow non-PI heads...so it's not a great comparison. But the rev limits for any 5.4 aren't sky-high on stock internals, as the piston stroke is long.
My PCM code is 6L3A-12A650-CJB 3.55 gears and 675 rev. any info you can come up with will be greatly appreciated. My truck shifts right now out of 1st gear at 3500 rpm,the shifter is in drive with the od off. This seems low to me,does anyone find this average.
Now that you mention it my rear axle is 3.73 It seems that the PCM is calibrated to 3.55 I am also running on 20 inch wheels.I will definitely investigate further, thanks for the info.
There should be a 4 digit code on the PCM. 3 letters followed by 1 number. The number you gave is the calibration id, and its not pulling up in the SCT software.
Unfortunately these are the only numbers I see on the pcm. Thanks for your time, energy and effort.I spoke to the people at Roush and they said my dealer should be able to reflash the pcm,I will hope to see them tomorrow.
