Pedastal or stud mount?

These two rockers mount sound the same to me, whats the difference, isn't a stud a pedastal? Is one the one that mounts on a horizontal bar

The stud type is also known as the adjustable rocker and the pedastal type are non adjusting. The stud type is also a screw in stud and the pedastal bottoms out on the head with a bolt, not a stud and nut.

the difference is a stud mount rocker slides over a stud and is held to a particular position on the stud by a lock nut, and can be moved in hieght by adjusting where the lock nut is set. A pedestal mount the fulcrom of the rocker is bolted solidly to a "pedestal" onto the head and can be adjusted by putting shims under the pedestal.

The pedestal mount has a fixed fulcrum that is fixed solidly and does not move around, -so it requires no guide plates or hardened pushrods that create added friction, motion, and wear. Both types are available with or without bearings and roller tips. The pedestal type bolts directly onto existing OEM 385 and 335 style factory heads. The stud mount units usually require additional machine work as well as extra parts.

Horizontal bar mount rockers are for 302/351W type heads without canted valves.
