I am looking at buying the upper trim molding from a ’79 Fleetside truck and put it on my '79 SWB Styleside. Will this molding interchange with my styleside? Thanks for anyone’s input. About to spend good money on a product I want to make sure works for me.
The Fleetside is the(step side,or is it the other way around).
The upper trim molding that runs along the front finder, doors, and backs little 2" peice will fit fine, but which ever truck has the stepside, then no of coarse the trim won't fit on the bed(I'm sure that wasn't what you were asking though)
Ford's version of the stepside is also known as the flareside. Their version of the fleetside, or regular body, is the called the styleside, as it follows the style of the cab and front fenders
I'd have to agree with you Farmnaggie. I think he just has the names mixed around as I never really saw any trim available for the step/flareside beds.
Thanks guys for all of your input and link that definitely spoke for itself (thanks Dennis). I'll get with the guy selling it and bring it all down to stepside, or regular bed.
Sorry I put fleetside, obviously ya'll knew what I was talking about when I said it thought, those words aren't in my every day vocab., but like it is confirmed now, flareside is like the step side.
