Become a Supporter!/Thanks

For all of the people that are viewing this site for the first couple times, become a supporter and you won't regret it! I have only had my truck a week and a half and have already saved quite a bit of $$ by just listening to what works when thinking about upgrades and other issues you may have with your truck! Give back a little and you won't be dissappointed. The information you get here is unbelievable as the members know what they are talking about and will go out of their way to help you with pictures, links, deals, instructions, and anything else that will possibly help you!
Thanks again to all the great contributors on this site!!

Tod

It's a small price to pay, look at what we spend modding our trucks and all we save with the advice we get here!

Oh yeah, no advertising banners!

I agree. It's a small price to pay for the wealth of information we have here. I like to think of it as an insurance policy and it's much cheaper than a Chilton's book...

That's the truth! I was checking out a car audio forum and on my first post I was called the "N" word just because I have an Excursion. I looked at other posts for a while, most of those guys are immature idiots, I couldn't believe it. Really made me appreciate the guys on this board!

I agree! This is why I paid my dues. A little story about that:

I made an ill-advised crack about someone's grammar when I was new to the site. No harm intended, just pointing out (sarcastically) that bad grammar can make a post unintelligible and therefore worth less (not worthless).<O

Boy did I open a can of worms!! Got an immediate response from the Admin of the site, letting me know that this was NOT ok. Humbled, I apologized.

<OWell, that was not good enough for the offended poster. He sent me an email so laced with profanity, venom, racial epithets, sexual innuendo, and threat that the Admin took even faster steps to have the guy banned from the site. Like I said, a real can of worms.
<O
The whole situation was handled with such a level of professionalism and speed that FTE deserves my $15. Signed up right then. As a result of this site being run so well, I very rarely see arguments, and when you do, they don't degenerate into flame wars and general nastiness.

On top of all that, the best advice for my truck exists right here. Worth every penny!

Let`s start some crap here seeing as how everyone is so nice and all, Let`s hear from some people that don`t choose to be supporters and and why. I know not everyone is well off but we are talking 16 bucks for so much Knowledge at your fingertips. Be happy.

Becoming a supporter was the BEST $16 I EVER SPENT! I lurked around here for a few months like a sponge, soaking up knowledge and never once thought about becoming a supporter. Not that I was AGAINST it, the VALUE of it had just not sunk in and I'm what one would call "tight." One of the suggestions that I came across (at least hundreds of times) was to carry a spare CPS and the proper tools to change it out in your truck. Seeing as how so many have had the problem, I went down to my IH dealer and picked one up and threw the tools in the truck. Weeks went by and low and behold my mule got tired and stubborn and left me miles away from civilization on a dirt road above Conconully. It just up and died. Restarted. Then died again as if someone turned the key. After an hour of poking around my engine bay, checking fuses, relays, fuel flow, I suddenly remembered what I read about the dreaded CPS issue and changed it out. BANG. Fired right up and I went on down the road with a smile on my face and $16 burning a hole in my pocket. First chance I had I signed right up and became a supporter. The time and money saved was well worth the $16. Plus this is a collection of a great bunch of guys (and gals) who treat each other with a great deal of respect.

VALUE....Invaluable.

O.K. , I'll bite, but not like you think. I have been on other sites lately to try and make some extra money with short hauls. I have the truck, trailer, why not. Boy, what a mess those sites are. I would not even think about signing on to ask a question for fear of the comments that would be made.
I have learned many things on this sight as I am sure many others that are new to diesels and fords are on here right now.
I will become a supporter right after this post!!!!!!!!!!!
