We have a 04' E-150 van that is now blowing only hot air out of the front A/C, but does blow cool (note: not cold) air out of the rear vents. The van has dual controls. This van was crashed last November and did sustain a fair amount of damage to the front end, primarily right front. I haven't had an opportunity to look at it myself, just going off of my brother in laws description of the problem.
I am looking for any suggestions as to where and what to look at. I suspect the blend door for the front control is either stuck or broken since the rear seems to put out some cool. This is my best uneducated guess. A/C worked fine prior to the accident. I am thinking it sustained damage with the accident and want our insurance to pay for repairs. Having A/C is critical to our use of the vans as we have to keep our products at or below 75 F, and we just tied a new high temperature yesterday of 79 F!
Haven't checked pressures yet. In fact, I myself haven't had a chance to look at it at all. I am going off of what my brother in law tells me, which is pretty sketchy at best. Since this is our company van I am going to let him take it to the local Ford dealer. I just don't have the time right now to get into it, along with the fact I don't have a set of gauges......
RacerGuy (Dave) suggested the same and didn't think it was the blend door since this seems to be related to the wreck. I looked at the pictures again and the right front damage does look like it could have damaged the A/C.
Thanks for the suggestion. I have been coming to this site for over 4 years, probably more like 5 and have ALWAYS recieved superb help.
