Sheesh.

Post Fiend

Race you to 6000!

Purely technical stuff, though, OK? No more of these "my neck" posts ...

You know, I'm still waiting for donations to my "Rear Tire Fund"...

Speaking about laughing...... did you guys check out the "un-pimp your auto" VW commercials? There is some discussion about them in the general automotive forum.

Durability

Charlie,

Now that both you and your truck are out of the appropriate repair shops, we can resume the debate of whether we or our V10's will last longer.

Congratulations on 5K posts!

Bruce

Charlie, I knew you were a fiend long before you hit the 5000 posts. You are one of the reasons I still hang around this forum because lately there have been a lot of reasons for not coming here and the biggest pain are the many polite trolls we are seeing. These are people who are pretending to be interested in a V10 but they are going to go diesel come hell or highwater. They play these little mind games and if I read any more poor mileage posts, I am going to vomit. Anybody that believes a 7500 pound truck is going to get 20 MPG running around town probably believes in the Tooth Fairy. I get 22 MPG around town on my 02 Honda Accord 4 banger and my PSD got me 12. The V10 gets me 10. Wrenchtraveller's Believe it or Not.

Anyway, sorry for the rant, and Congrats on hitting the big 5000.

Hey Wrench what would the mileage be in your Honda be in comparison to the weight ratio of the V10. I am guessing the Honda mileage would be between 8 and 10 if it weighed the same. My 2000 7.3 got 14/15, my 06 V10 gets 10.5/11.5 with 4000 miles on it with the same short trip driving, and gas is 30 cents a gallon less. So will somebody explain to me how I got screwed buying the V10.

Waahhhhh.... my 10,000# RV gets only 8 MPG.

Waahhhhh... my E450 weighing in at 11K lbs gets only 8MPG.

Waahhhhh... waahhhhh waaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh.....

I love the ones getting 12-13 complaining about "poor" gas mileage. Or better yet, the ones who get 15MPG empty and complain... those are the real trolls, even though they probably don't even realize it.

Simple physics. Takes 14MPG to go 70MPH empty with a 7000lbs truck. Up that to 14K lbs, and gee, it only gets 7-8... Waahhhhh......

Post Fiend!!! Congrats Charlie

Glad to hear you're finally becoming threadbare.

Remember to do your "warmups" before hitting the snowpacks.

And, Wrench, I know what you mean.............
