Built Ford Tough

What's the deal on this COP design that Ford has? I have a 98' F150 with the 5.4. The truck has less than 45,000 on the clock and I think another coil is going bad. It started a nasty misfire earlier this week, no check engine light on yet. I just had the number 8 coil replaced along with new motorcraft plugs to cure a misfire about 2 months ago. The previous misfire didn't trip a code so it took a good bit of troubleshooting. Is this common for these trucks? I've seen quite a bit of posts floating in this section about misfires. Any advice on prevention or how to diagnose when it doesn't trip a code would be appreciated.

Unplug The Cylinders, And Which Ever One Doesn't Change The Miss Fire Is The Cylinder That Isn't Firing. This Is A Very Common Problem With These Cop's
