I got a nice entire steering column at my local yard for $50.00 I am going to install it to alleviate my problems with ignition and exposed wires plus i gain tilt. Anyone know the easiest and safest way to install I understand i must be careful of the airbag.
Disconect negative battery lead.
Press and hold brake for 5+ minutes (I Personally do it for 15 just for my own sake)
Rid yourself of any static electricity by touching the metal on the vehicle.
Now you can safely remove the air bag.
I am surprised that you don't have tilt on a '96 (I assume that is what you are talking about sense that is the year you mentioned in the other thread. It helps to add your year, millage, engine, tranny, AWD to your sig so we can quickly reference it.) By that time Ford had pretty much made everything standard besides PW, PL, and AWD.
I would just be a little weary that your junkyard column might have the same issues so I would scrutinize it carefully before purchasing.
