OK, I have this problem on both of our vehichles, so I'd thought I'd ask here, and see if anyone knows of a nice, low-buck method...
BOTH cars windsheilds are age pitted, which of course makes it difficult to see through when driving toward the sun, as it refracts the light, glaring the view so as to make it dangerous.
I have access to a buffing machine, but I'm trying to find a low-buck polishing compound to help clear up these glass pieces. The stuff I'm finding online is running about $50 for enough to do ONE windshield...is there something common I can buy, or make, out of household stuff, to do this?
Thanks for the info...I found a site about polishing plat glass windows, etc...that should also work for windshields...it DOES involved light wet sanding with extremely fine grit paper FIRST, before applying optical grade glass polish...this MAY be the route to take...wouldn't cost too much for materials, and only about a Saturday's worth of work for BOTH cars...
