I am just about ready to order all the weatherstripping for my 77. Has anyone ordered there's from lmc and were you happy with the fit? Can anyone suggest a place to order all the rubber that they have had good luck with? I would be greatful for any imput.
I just did this on my 73 with parts from Dick Carpenter. They are an exact match for the pieces that I removed.
The hardest part about the job is removing the old glass runs from the door. That old weatherstripping ( really named glass runs ) gets as hard as a rock and it needs to be broken into a bunch of pieces to get it out of the door. The new pieces just snap into place. You will probably need to trim the length on a few pieces to get a nice snug fit. The job is definitely easier if you remove the glass from the runs and let it rest in the bottom of the door while you work.
I got all my seals and weatherstripping for my 77 when I restored it in 2003 from LMC and it all fit like the OEM stuff that came off of the truck. Today, two and a half years later it is still performing like OEM product. -Ed
