Vent window locks
My 77 vent windows do not lock and can be forced open with a screw driver pushed through the rubber seal. I thought I had seen some post about this before but seach was no results. Anyone know how to retrofit some or have a good idea for making my own? I want to keep it looking "nice" and not cob it up.

beartracks, You should be able to pick up a set of vent window handles from another truck in a salvage yard, or pick up the whole vent window with handle and all. I think some reproduction companies also make replacement locking handles. They are very easy to remove. There is a split pin that goes through the handle shaft, and it can be driven out with a very small punch. If you are going to go with used ones, you may want to add a couple of thin spring washers behind the handle. It will help to close your window tighter, and eliminate that annoying wind whistle at highway speeds.

Thanks but I seem to recall that the later model ones that lock have a different size shaft which is part of the frame. Maybe I could change the whole frame.
