Leveling kits

ok you guys that have done leveling kits did you go with the whole new spring pack and trac bar relocating things which run about 300 bucks and claim they can get you 2.5 inches of lift so you can run 35's or did you go with the one ad a leaf that only runs about 100 bucks and gets you 2 inches of lift. Any personal experience and opinions are needed/welcome
Im planning to put on 35 inch nitto terra grapplers or 33's havent made up my mind but i do know that i am doing a leveling kit for sure just trying to decide what type to go with. Also my truck is a 99 extended cab long box with the 6.8 v10

I did the 3.5 inch pro-comp or fab-tech leveling kit(can't remember) uses the stock track-bar and bracket. It is a more expensive lift, but worth it, keeps stock ride. I would go with an adjustable trac-bar if you need to. The add-a-leaves ride fairly rough when I have been around them. Looking back, if you want to do a leveling kit, go with a 4-inch if not a 6. I'm looking for a used 6 inch lift as we speak.

Just did the add-a leaf and 285's it turned out just how I wanted it too. No nose bleed look, and level without looking monster truck like. Leafs cost $70 install cost around $90.
Heres some pics. 2004 psd f250

On new Superdutys its a 3" coil spacer from Daystar.
On '99-'02 Superdutys, Fabtech has a 3" leveling kit w/springs.
On '80-'97 Use a shackel reversal Kit for 3" From Sky Mfg. A 5" reversal is also avaliable.

I made my own lift similar to the DR mini-spring packs. It is very simply and inexpensive. The ride stays the same and you can use the factory shocks. Mine is a 3.5" lift and I did needed to length the trac bar. Even if you don't make your own kit, I suggest the DR mini-springs.

01F350 i like your setup I was thinking of mabe making an adjustable track bar do you think that is needed or is it just a simple cut and add on like you did? O and what kind of rig did you get the extra springs out of.

I've got an 01F250SD with the 2.5" Rough Country kit installed. I have 35" ProComp Mud-Terrain's with no problem. At first, I was running 305's and they looked too small. You can see pictures of the truck with the 305's in my sig.

Swampo, you can do what ever you want for the trac bar, if you plan on going with a bigger lift down the road, then make an adjustable TB. I don't know where we got the truck leafs, but if I get a chance this weekend I will measure the lengths of them, if that helps. I am sure any 3" wide leaf would work.

I love your truck. What brand is the hood you have? Are the scoops funtional? And what did it run? Very interested as that is what I want for my truck.

Can you post some details, please. There isn't any info anywhere on doing this. I'm really interested in finding out more from others who have tried and suceeded like yourself.

Thanks!! I got my hood from www.ramairhood.com . The scoops are 100% functional, the only problem is the company hasn't designed an airbox for the F250 5.4 yet. In the meantime, the scoops are doing nothing more then dumping cold air into my engine bay... Either way, it's the exact hood I wanted (based on the WS6).

The hood, painted and shipped, ran me $1100.
