using amsoil

Just wounding if any one out there has used amsoil in the 6.0. If so which type and what are the intervals of changing oil/filter.

There is only 1 Amsoil Diesel oil that has the proper API certification, and that
is PCO:

http://eolcs.api.org/DisplayLicenseI...LicenseNo=0995

The Amsoil website is very deceitful, and they try to make it sound like all
of their oil products are API certified, which they are not!!!

Why would you pay an outrageous price for Amsoil (since it is a MLM company), when there cheaper, better oils available, like Rotella???

Gezzzzzzzz Bob you didn't waste anytime jumping on this one. The guy didn't ask that but you allways seem to jump on an amsoil question with both feet. What gives ? Besides your helpfull info on amsoil ? We get the point allready you don't like amsoil so get over it allready gezzzzzzzzzz Post something postive for a change .

RedRock I have used Amsoil in my 01 PSD and in my 05 . I use the 15w40 Diesel and change it every 5k . I don't think it matters what oil you use just change it at the recomended intervals and you will be fine. Ford hasn't voided anyones warranty because they have used amsoil no matter what Bob might tell you. If you do change the oil yourself just keep the recieps to show that you did change it and when. There is a place in the back of the owners manual that you can enter the dates and mileage for the service done and just keep good records.

That's strange, Amsoil even recommends their limited API certified oil products if you are worried about your manufacturer's warranty, and ALL US
vehicle manufacturers require API certified oil for their warranty to stay valid!!

Bob do you have a spy program on your computer so if anyone ever types Amsoil it sends you an e-mail ? I see by your own signature that you don't own a 6.0 or even a superduty .Why do you allways chime in when a amsoil question is asked in these forums ? Well maybe you do this in the other forums on rangers but I don't go there because I don't own one and wouldn't be able to give any usefull info on a question.

I had a 96 7.3L with the remote 100 micron oil filter setup and i loved it. The truck had amsoil in it its whole life and still ran like a champ at 185,000. I probably wont use it on the 06 due to the cost and having to buy 2 filters every time. Hope this helps.

After the last 2 years of reading in this site I'm so paranoid that I looked for Motorcraft Oil for the first change I did myself this weekend. Got tired of draining out a quart and 1/2 after the dealer service. 17K miles Feb. '04 not one issue with the truck, except for recalls. Good Luck

I don't use Amsoil but I did go to an auto show a few weeks back and I picked up their Factory direct Catalog. Looking for some info on the remote filtering system!

Series 3000 SAE 5W-30 API CI-4+/CF/CF-2/SL or SAE 15W-40Diesel & Marine Oil API CI-4+/CF/CF-2/SL or 10W-30/SAE 30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil API CI-4+/CF/CF-2/SL Among a bunch of other Cert.

Like I say i don't use the stuff.

I use Mobil 1 Truck SUV or Delvac 1

I just changed to Amsoil 5w30 HD Diesel. I live in Central Canada were there are temprature extremes both hot and cold.. so far cold weather performce is excellent. Starts much easier when cold and runs alot smoother on startup. Haven;t tested fuel mileage forsure but I think its doin a little better.

my 2 cents.
