My truck has split rims and I am going to clean them up and repaint them. I will paint the rims Colonial White but what color should the snap-ring be??
like a C7ae it came on 390gt and some mid level perfromance cars in the late 60's. Not a bad intake for a truck, got 1 myself. Why don't you go to the salvage yard and get some rims off a later model Ford and save somones life? That way you can also go tubeless.
I already have the manifold, I was just curious what the S stood for if anything.
Instig8r63, super-heavy is probably right.
I haven't totally decided to keep or get rid of the split-rims. I can have tires mounted and balanced for $16 each. They came on the truck and it is show quality and I like keeping it original.
I would keep a set of repro bias ply tires on the split rims, in the garage, and put them on for concourse shows. Any other time, run a one-piece wheel with more modern tires. Split rims can be very dangerous if the person putting them together doesn't have TONS of experience.
I have one of the S code intakes, and a standard 4BBL intake, the S code has noticably larger port, passages, and smoother runs.
