I bought a 77 ford hood and grille assembly for my wrecked 79 F100.
Everything went reasonably smooth, except there are no holes to screw the headlight assembly to, which I knew and was prepared for.
But then I finished up and closed the hood and it won't latch! The hood "bar" is a full inch in front of the latch! I tried adding a spacer to the latch mechanism but it still won't reach. The previous owner hit a tree on one side of the truck, so it shouldn't have affected the middle of the truck, and it doesn't appear to be bent.
I'm at a loss as to what to do now. Can a professional body man even fix this problem?
I got the hood from a junk yard. It was still on the truck and looks to be in undamaged condition. I believe that the radiator guard on my truck must be pushed in, though it does not look like it with the naked eye. I don't know how you would pull it out.
