Axle spline count
Hey Guys. I have a 95 swb xlt 4.9 m5od 2.73. I am looking at replacing the gears and installing a posi at the same time. My problem is I cant get the posi unit until I know what my spline count is. Is there any way of determining this without actually removing my cover? What years had 28 splines and what years had 31 splines? I am going with 3.08s to give a little better tow capacity and still retain mpg. I have a 6x10 trailer I tow every once in a while. Thanks.
