'78 Catalytic Converter?

'78 Catalytic Converter?
I have a '78 F250 4wd Camper Special with a 351M. Do you guys know if this combo came from the factory with a catalytic converter? What about an air pump? The truck is relatively new to me and I'm due for emissions. I want to be sure the truck will pass the visual inspection. It used to be my brother's truck and it passed last year, but I'm not sure if that was because of a not so detailed inspection, or if they weren't originally equipped with catalytic converters.

Yeehhaaw. Thanks Tom. Now I know why it actually has some get up and go. That and the 3" single exhaust maybe. Now I may have a chance at the ol' smog station.

you know guys..i'm really glad where i live i dont have any emissions control.....dont have to have fender flares for wide tires.....dont even have to have catalytic converters unless its newer then....1990 or something like that..i dont have to worry..i dont own anything that new....

I live in Minnesota and I've been through the emissions noise (until a year ago when they discontinued testing). Check the engine decal (drivers side valve cover). In BIG letters at the top of the decal it will either say "CATALYST" or "NON-CATALYST".
The "CATALYST" is the engine that would have had the converter and or related emmissions equipment. I've had to explain this to the inspection people at least once.
