Don't know where you are located but if you are in dusty conditions as I am here on the farm, I'd go with the AIS. I did on both of my pickups and really like the capacity and the job that it does of filtering. Just my .02 worth.
Best is the AIS/Donaldson but a great less expensive alternative is the much cheaper Kwik Mod filter setup.
Nut
Agree here. AIS is the best filtering, but the Kwik filter is hard to beat on price. If you look in my gallery, you can see I went with the Kwik filter setup, and I like it.
Thanks everybody I am going to go with the kwik Filter to go with my 4" Exhaust I already have. I looked up other conversation on the same topic that helped. Any advice on the next modification I sould make.

yes the CCV mod which cost about $15, because i bought $15 of hose. all i needed was the hose, and i had a piece of 4'' exhaust laying around that i used.
after that, do the ZooDad mod (do a search)
the next real "mod" per se should be the stainless steel high pressure crossover mod.
I am also caught in this problem of what the best way to go is on the air filter since there are so many opinions (and I just purchased my truck a week ago). It seems the AFE stage 2 makes so huge promises(50HP) but nobody seems to like it, is that because of the price only? The Kwik filter seems fairly cheap (around $30 I think) but how aften will I need to replace it if I am in the desert alot? The AIS/Donaldson is another option that I would like to see some pictures of.
many people tpyically see 30K-50K out of the filter, but it can take up to 100K miles to truely "clog" such a large filter with this much surface area. if youre running in sand, i would recommend an Outerwares cover, not for just the Kwik filter, but for any one.
can you just use braided hose for the hpx mod or do you have to buy the line at IT because 64.00 seems like alot for that line. what kinda of hook ups are on the ends? just trying to save some money for more mods thanks for any ideas
Did you get the outerwears covers from NAPA as well? I use them on all of my 4 wheelers and motorcycles and they work incredibly well to prolong the life of the filters! I don't know where I would find one that big!!

This is relly out of the context of this thread. Have you searched for HPX or SS HPX yet? This topic has been beat up before. But, it basically boils down to this -- your oil is at a very high pressure in that line. Would you feel more secure with a hose, or a solid line with high pressure oil that close to a hot turbo? As you can see, I went with the Stainless Steel Line.
