You have to drill a hole and cut some of the molding behind the old ashtray since the back of the **** is so freakin big but I like the location. Have to lean over a bit to turn the **** but its pretty easy, unless you have a big hand. You can look in my gallery if u wanna.
I hate cutting holes ANYWHERE there ain't supposed to be one. If you haven't bought gages yet (I'm sure you will pretty soon), you might consider a Quad pillar pod?? I made a pod insert to match my gage bezels out of aluminum and polished it to a satin finish, slipped it in with the switch installed and I was done . I bought a lighted selector dial from BlackCloud, but before I install it I'm going to make a custom face plate to show MY selections ie. S,40,60,80,100 & 120 instead of 1,2,3, etc...
No-one but no one drives my truck so I figure whats the point of hiding it, just makes it a PITA to use. Hell I want to show it off !
I'll post new pics after I install the lighted dial

Now that's nice. Does it illuminate with the gauges? Very nice....
It will when I'm done . I'm going to silk screen my font onto white translucent abs material. With green leds (off BlackClouds dial) lighted from behind it'll look just like my other gages
I'll add a twist to the mount discussion. I mounted mine (without the ****) into a piece of pipe secured to the fuse panel under the kick board. I then drilled a hole to the left of the steering column. I removed the ****. secured it to about a three inch long piece of transmission cooler steel line. On the open end of the steel line, I expanded the id to fit the stem of the switch. Then I heated the line and beat a flat spot in it.The **** attached to the steel line, fits through the drilled hole and mates up to the hidden switch. I have an idle only setting on my chip and if I leave the truck idling unattended, I can turn the switch to idle only, pull the stem and put it in my pocket while away from the truck. If anyone steals it they won't go far or fast. Or, if I let someone else drive the truck, I can set the switch to stock, remove the stem and they have no way to change the setting. A little more involved but very effective.

That is a good idea, very nice I am the only one to drive my truck but I wanted to hide mine for emission time
I think you just bought a couple of decals from me off of ebay. Small world?!?
Pics of chip install described earlier in my gallery. Could not figure out how to post in message.
