Jim Morrisson was a JERK
That guy treated a whole slew of people like crap, threw away an education, and disowned his own blood kin.
And some people say he is still out there somewhere, having faked not just his own death, but his wife Pamela's as well...
Even though most people only wonder about his own supposed demise. His wife allegedly died two or three years after him - coincidence?
(Now THIS ought to be a thought provoking topic)
Your input(s)?
The portion of the book that covers his writing of the song "The End" was about all I could take. A twisted individual for sure.
If he ain't dead, he oughta be.
It's a real tough book to read, because the more you know about him the less you think of the guy.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Read about John Lennon or Mick Jagger or Elvis or an endless list of rock stars and Hollywood actors.. or even Picasso the painter or Van Gogh, and you are gonna find people who are NOT the upstanding citizens most people would want to hang around with. There are drug dealers, and groupies, lurking at every turn for them and sports stars of all kinds.
This is what constantly amazes me about People/Us type magazines, and Entertainment Tonite type shows, and the people that watch them. They idolize these absolute Jerks, male and female, most of whom can't stay true to their spouse or partner long enough to get the pants off another bed partner. And people eat it up. It's really, for example, Paris Hilton's main claim to fame!
Morrison was no better or worse than a few thousand others. If you choose to idolise these people, he's as good/bad as any.

As for Morrison, in concert using swear words to describe your military father, talking about doing nasty things to your mother, some of the worse things about him you -might- be able to mention even in the FTE section because it is certainly not family related.
A lot of his songs were dark and I wondered what they meant. After reading the book mentioned, his so called poetry, and other things, I realized who and what he was and trashed the few things I had about him. I think I tossed the books too.
The best way to describe him is evil and sick, even that is probably being kind about it.
Elvis lives in japan. It's the only place in the world where his hairstyle blends in with the general public.
If JM is still alive, he did one of four things:
1) He studied for the BAR, and became a southern california lawyer (fits his style)
2) Became a consultant, also in southern cal.
3) He is in charge of a religious school of some kind, just about anywhere in the world.
4) He's in a biker gang somewhere real close to the top, if not networking them all. (Invisible income, and a law unto himself)
If you really wanted to disappear, what would YOU do?
Whatever he might be doing, he would still be a jackass. How can you do that and get away with it? In what occupation could you get away with it? That's the thing to consider. I don't think the "MOB" would want anything to do with him, they had enough trouble with Sinatra. JM was totally outside...
Now, if he got into the dark side of the recording industry - THAT is a possible.
It is also possible that he vanished into a high position in the drug underworld. That would go a long way towards explaining why it was necessary for him to no longer exist publicly.
Where is the easy money?
In fact - drug trafficking makes a lot of sense in that model. If you have written off everything else, why not the human race in its entirety?
Q: How much influence do drugs and rock & roll have on the young in this country?
Q2: Why?
Q3: How damaging is it?
Q4: When did it become organised?
In the fifties, rock and roll was not drug oriented nearly as much as it is today.
