Ok guys, Id like to get a few opinions about what should be done with my truck. Ive got alot of options available to go with but Im not sure which way would be better. Its an 03 350 CC SB V8 with the Sports Package so there isnt any chrome except the step bars.
Here are some of the things Im thinking about.
- CF ram air hood
- 16" black or chrome rock crawler rims
- black or chrome gas door
- chrome grill insert
- leer 100XQ top
- mild lift to sqeeze a larger tire under, maybe a 3.5" lift and a 33 or 35 maybe?
- possible door handle and fender trim if I go the chrome route
- or maybe bushwacker fender flares
- and i would definately like a westin bull bar or some type of bar up front. i used to have warn on everything but id like to try some different stuff.
There is some other stuff Im leaving out im sure but here is my problem, I dont know which way to go, with chrome or black 16s. If I go the black route with those, should I leave the other chrome trim off? I like keeping it simple. Im not just going to slap everything available on the market on the truck and hope it looks good. And I dont know how to approach the lift. I dont want to go screwing with the suspension like I did with my last vehicle. I ended up not doing it right and paying for it later as my struts screwed me out of alot of tires. AND the big deal, how bad would a bigger tire affect my mpg and ride?
Im just testing the water right now though, I wont even throw the cap on for probably another 2-3 months.

It's a matter of personal preference really, What do you like? Personally I don't care for the black rims unless there is no other chrome on the truck. But I like chrome as long as it's not too much. MPG would depend on tire size and gearing, ride would also depend on tire selection, what size, how agressive the tread is, etc. I like to search through the forum for similer trucks and see what looks good.
Oh' and I would also like to see a ram air hood in my future.
Not sure what hood your looking at, but I think my truck looks better than most - just because of the hood (pics in gallery). Have seen other trucks with (cowl) hoods, and personally think it's the best bang for the buck, as far as looks go.
Just to be clear. I put DC's truck up as an example of the no chrome, black rims and modified hood look. I wouldn't recommend the height, unless you're willing to put as much time, effort, and money into it, as DC has put into his.
