body swaping

body swaping
ok one of my favorite trucks i own isnt actually a truck. it is a 78 e150cheatua van and i love it. it was the first vehichle i had ever driven. so i am kinda attached to it. the problem is the body is literally rusting to nothing. however the engine,drivetrain and chassie are still in remarkebly good condition. so insted of buying bondo by the 80 gallon drum i started looking and realized i could actually remove the entire body from the diveline and chassie. the only problem is i dont know if another body would fit or if i could find one reasonably priced in good condition. so please any one who has done this sort of thing or who knows anywhere or anyone who has referbd bodies or good old ones give some help or suggestions. any advice will be greatly appreciated thank you.

depending on how much work you are willing to do, you can swap another van body on from the same years of your body style(75-91?), or you can swap a truck body on(73-79). or oyu can build your own body. if the cab is in good shape, cut the rest of the body off, and build a box or motorhome style body. upgrade the chassis and suspension at the same time though.

I don't know about being able to swap a truck body onto your chassis. In the later years, the F series chassis is narrower than the E series. Steering layout may be different as well. Like I said, I don't know for sure about your year, but check it out.
Probably be best to find another van and do the swap or find one or more damaged ones to cut body repair panels from to repair the body that you have now if yours is good enough to repair.
