How the heck do ya'll degrease bath tubs once you get done with that one job on your truck that you get covered in tranny fluid (or the unknown messy stuff) and decide to take a shower. Just did it and I spent an hour cleaning the grease outta the tub.
Best way is to wash up the best you can in the shop sink, like I know so many of you do. Just remember that the arm has more than just the top side. If that misses, after you shower, spray the tub with "Greased Lightning". Amazing stuff. Even works on that heavy, set-in cooking grease on the kitchen cabinets. You southerners know what I'm talking about.
You still need to wipe it down, but cuts down on alot of the elbow grease (all puns intended). It does leave the surface slick, so if you just spray and rinse, rinse it real good.
Simple Green - use it full strength, spray it in the tub, and then get in there with the shower runnin' and a Scotchbrite pad. Cleans it right up!! Use it on yourself to get the spots you missed (the Simple Green. NOT the Scotchbrite!!)
Or any other oven cleaner. I use this to degrease engines and take off gaskets. Since it is a foam, it stays where you put it. Fumes are terrible. I don't think they would allow this stuff in the workplace but its ok to sell it to houswives. Really eats aluminum and don't get it aroud electrical connectors. Rinse it off with water longer than you think it should take. Think it would work.
Scrubbing bubbles aresol stuff. Hey be careful that what ever you use to clean the parts doesn't damage the fininsh of the drain. My husband was not real happy about that. Engine degreaser to clean an oil pan and valve covers. Where else was I supposed to clean em off at?:P
Bathtub? -What Bathtub? You guys bathe? I got my bath when I dumped that Kayak on the river last spring. The water was kinda high and I had a choice of landing on the root ball, or going under that tree. There was only about 2" under that tree, and I had just opened a cold one. I hit the root ball and slipped on one of them old slimy roots. If I hadn't had to keep ahold of that dang paddle I could have made it. I did manage to get my can propped on a fork b4 I went under, didn't spill a drop:-)
Try some liquid soap, like hand cleaner or dish soap. Don't add water, just use the soap as if it were a solvent to wipe the dirt off, then finish by rinsing with water.
