Is there actually an HO 5.4 in the superduty trucks?
Im looking for a 02 or newer 4 door ford with the 5.4 v8, and I saw a guy on e b ay describe his engine as the HO version.
Thanks!
Sean!
thanks, i didnt think so....
im getting a 250 4 door with the 5.4, and im looking for another engine to make a streetable turbo engine. i was wondering if there was and engine with some better components on it....
Thanks!
SEAN!
5.4 gas improve over the years, 99 rated at 230 HP, 2000 rates at 265 HP, 2005 rated at 300 HP, with 3 valve head, definately the one to put the Supercharger on from Roush or Ford SVO parts.
Want a Turbo, just get a 6.0 Diesel, rated at 320 HP and 570 ft lb torque.
Why not get a diesel? Because i dont got 40 thousand dollars!!!
i can buy a f350 or f250 4 door every option truck with the 5.4 for less then 20k!
Besides if i wanted a diesel i would get a real diesel, a Cummins!
not a toy power puke......
theres a place in montana that will convert my 2004 f350 4 door 5.4 to a 2005 Cummins for 8 grand. in my mind that adds up to about 28,000, and a WAY better truck then a 35,000 dollar stroke!
hmmm now what can i do with $7,000 to a Cummins ISB?
there are 3 4 door f 350s or 250s on ebay right now with the 5.4 for less then 20, and are very nice trucks!
Maybe your missing the part where i said 02 to about 04, not brand new....
Essentially what I am suggesting, without making disparaging remarks is that you might want to look at othe options. A turbo conversion done right, how much? A cummins conv 8000, a Powerstroke ? The real reason I would consider a stroker is you want a newer 5R100 auto or our ZF 6 speed manual. Realistically, I think to do the turbo properly, with intercooler, computer controls ect ect, I think your close to the same cost. Perhaps a blower, 3 - 4 K would be a bit more economical, get most power for the buck, rousch and ford SVo bolt on.
yeah, actually i was looking at a lightning supercharger, it would be a cheaper way to do the same thing...
I want to stick with a gas engine, and i dont think a turbo kit would even come close to the cost of a powerstroke. espesially when it comes to taxes and insurance.....
ebay has some great prices now adays for the do-it-yourselfer!
