hey y'all, i finally got the money to pay for my aerostar, i absolutely love it, this is my first night with it, after having a car, its refresing to go back to driving a Ford and i love how truck like it feels, this is one of the best vehicles ive ever driven!!!!!!!!
monday im gonna take it to the mechanic to have the serpentine belt replaced, some cracks in it and im gonna have the tranny fluid and filter changed
join the DIYer's....serpertine belt 1/2 hour...easy learning experience....tranny filter and fluid change 1 1/2 hours.....
between the two, put $100 plus in your wallet plus the personal satisfaction
get a good Goodyear or Gates belt....will last longer than you or the Aero
how do i make the interior lights go on? they dont turn on when doors are open, and they dotn turn on with the headlight switch? doenst seem like fuse is bad cause owners manual said they're on the same fus=e as instrument panel or soemthing that i KNOW is working. how possible that ALL the light bulbs are bad at once??
i love my Aero so much, I sleep with it some nights
camping of course
Welcome to Aero World

we are really enjoying the van, my wife and i want to go camping this summer in it, i have posted some pictures of the van, i put diffrent carpet in it, and dont flame me for the buick hubcaps, i think they look cool, more retro, im goin for a more retro 70s look for the van.
They are funny vehicles, very endearing. I agree with 96, replace that belt and do the trans yourself. Save the old belt as a spare. Trans only takes 1.5 hrs if lots of beer consumed. Takes me 40 minutes. easy job.
lifetime parts warranty does me diddly squat...brand id wears off on serpentine front and back side drive belts so must have POP receipt, after 5 years, nada...keep the old one for roadside middle of desert or up in the hills emergency replacement.....never know when logging road limb is going to climb up into fan belt.....i carry a plastic emergency box in back with old belt, radiator cap, set of hoses, couple quarts of oil and small tool kit just in case....hv had to walk out or down too many miles of isolated roads...not with Aero though...most dependable lover er auto I've ever had
great lookin van.....in good shape...still has that Ford paint shine...seats and interior still look sharp...that auto sales dealer knows how to detail engine compartments...Buick hub caps look great, easy to keep clean, Ford swirl holes can be a pain
don't know if I could sleep with tiger orange carpet in back photo 11, maybe it improves camping love making?.... to each their own..get a queen size blow up camping air mattress with 12v compressor at WallyWort...just fit in back of Aero and great for road weary backs....ours stays in the back just for those quick trips into the snow country that may last overnite
use large van pu size windshield reflector to block windshield while camping....some tent ripstop nylon at fabric store w industrial hvy duty 2" velcro w large flat headed short screws thru velcro and plastic for window curtains and a 12v rechargeable florescent Coleman for those late night in van card games and brush squatting runs
the large side pockets are perfect wine racks for extended camping...look for Aero white at your local favorite wine store
and that extra large AC fan in the front in photo 11 must be a southern hot climate accessory? don't know if my alternator would handle it...would keep the wife quiet though
do a full 10 qt gentle tranny filter change and ATF flush....search Aero forum on how to
lots of Aero crusin ahead for you and your family
what was that 60's commercial?,
"Buy an Aerostar and see the USA"
don't know if I could sleep with tiger orange carpet in back photo 11, maybe it improves camping love making?....
Aaahh Nick, that is some of the BOLDEST floor tread I've seen. Happy camping in your new Aero Lounge, they also make cool little adjustable window screens that fit perfect in the top 4 to 6 inches of the Aero windows(front & side). You also will need a new sign for the door, might I suggest "When this Aero's a rockin' don't come knockin' "
I got mine in the hardware store years ago for my first camping van Ford Econoline . I see them now in Home Depot, Wally World,Lowes any place that sells window screens. They are not made for cars/vans but work well with some minor adjustments on most. I've used mine with numerous rides adjusting with weather stripping in some cases to get a tight fit.
