Strange Behavior
A friend has a 1988 F-450 Flatbed with fuel injection and two fuel tanks. I already know about Ford's problem with the tanks since I have a 1988 F-350 but with a carb. He starts the truck and it runs for about 1 minute and dies. He has already changed the two tank pumps and the switch and pump under the drivers side cab. He can't figure it out because right after it dies it will start again and then dies in about 20 seconds this time.
Anyone know whats going on here? Also is there a wiring diagram available for tihis truck online either in pdf format or .doc ?????

Are you sure it's fuel? Is it coughing out or just instantly dying? You sound pretty sure of yourself on the fuel issue, so I'd check your connections. Make sure that the grounds are solid to all the pumps, they should be effectively zero. 12v on with the key in the on position, it dosen't matter if the truck is running. If not then you know what to put under the magnifying glass. hope it helps

Pretty sure it's the fuel. When it dies it will spit a few times like its being starved for fuel then die. But hell it could be just about anything these days, maybe even a squirl in the throttle body, hahaha.
