Red face pulled the pump is it shot????
i just pulled the mechanical fuel pump from my 84 f150. the lever that goes in to the engine just floops back and forth with no resistance. i put the intake line in some fuel and then pumped her but i am not a mechanic, shouldn't there be some resistance and shouldn't it pump the fuel?????????

i think you answered your own question. but it should not floop and should pump fuel. a new one is under 25.00.

can anyone give a little advice as far as reinstalling the new one?

I've replaced mine on an 83, I found a lift made the job much easier!
