Hey everyone. Ive been looking for an excursion for awhile and lurking on this forum getting some good info. I was looking for a stock X that i would eventually modify, but i found something pretty sweet. All done up already, i wouldnt have to spend a dime on this thing. Id pretty much say its "done". Do you guys think this is worth the $17k over book value for all the mods or should i talk him down some?
i thought so too. its more lift than i wanted. i was set on the dr 7" kit. its just so tempting to get a finished vehicle when i think about how little doing it myself would add to the value of the vehicle.
i can put a $3000 lift kit, spend $1000 on tires, $1000 on rims, plus gearing, driveshafts, lockers......and if i sold it, id get an extra grand or two for it.
i guess im back to looking at a 03-04 limited w/ the 6.0 w/ low mileage. at least i'll get it exactly how i want.
well when i saw it it was at starbucks in pleasanton. it has a very narrow track and waaaaaaaaaaay over lifted. the man driving it was short (lifted truck to compensate for himself) . it was super clean . but the lift kit did not look right to me. the rear was ok but the front components seemed weak. i am used to seeing skyjacker and fabtech kits. it is 100% a mall cruiser and nothing more. i think a speed bump would flip it.
thats funny as hell. im trying to get the dealer to come down to 36000 including all fee's, delivery, finance charges, etc. so i can have an even $500/mo. seems like a clean truck.

I just bought a 04 Limited 4wd PSD w/ 26,000 miles in California for $35K. $36K OTD would be a good deal. We put 1,500 miles on it so far and we are loving it.
Looks like it already has intake/exhaust... might want to ask if its chipped, that could be your reason to take the price down. Definately go with an 04 if your going with the 6.0L They had big problems with the early 6.0s from what I have heard.
the kelderman xcursion probably has a little more then 100k tied up in it, if you ask me... I would pay 45k for it if I was looking for something like that. The first thing I would do to it tho is 4 link the rear. I stared at that front end for a while and I think its okay might not be as strong as some leaf springs but I bet that kelderman air ride rides a lot better then my Excursion. If I were to sell my truck Id hope to get somewhere around that($45,000-$55,000ish). I would rather spend the extra $13,000 for the kelderman over the other excursion you posted the link to, and youd would have something that someone spent over 100k on then something that youll buy stock and only invest no more then $5,000 which wont come close to looking as good as that kelderman ex does. IMHO The rims/tires and shocks alone on the kelderman probably cost around 3 to 4 grand.
