2001 F150 Starting Problem

2001 F150 Starting Problem
Not sure what is causing this problem. I have been told that the computer thinks that someone is trying to break into it. I use the remote to unlock, but the truck doesn't start. I then have to wait about 5 - 10 minutes then unlock the door with the key for the truck to start. I the beginning it happened every once in awhile, now it 2 or 3 times per week. Anyone ever have this happen to them or any suggestions?

Is this the factory or an aftermarket remote keyless?
Is your truck equipped with PATS? (Large black keyhead).
What does the THEFT indicator do when it won't start vs when it does?
By "not starting", do you mean it doesn't crank or does it crank but not fire?
