Quick transmission question
I have a 1984 f150 4X4 with the 4.9L and a 4 speed manual with the granny gear. i was wondering what transmission the truck has. Alldata is giving me three options, a Warner T-18/T-19, a TOD 4 speed overdrive, and a new process 435 4speed. I was just wondering how to tell the difference between the two. Im currently at college and the truck is back home. Thanks.

It's either a T-18 or an NP435. Both were available and common. The door tag will help, F is a T-18 and A means NP435. Also, the T-18 has Borg-Warner cast into the driver's side (mine does, anyway).
Both are super reliable and tough as nails. But you'll pay for it at the pump because neither one has overdrive.
