Newbie here
My dad & I bought the 1970 F100 about 6 years ago. Originally it had a 302 & a t-18. The engine was getting tired & we were thinking about rebuilding it when we found a running 360 & C6 for pretty cheap so we ripped out the 302&t-18 & dropped in the 360 & C6. Makes it alot easier to drive & alot faster too lol. At the same time we were also looking for a 4Wd. The 2WD is nice, but my dad really wanted a 4WD. I already have my 92 F250 & my 1974 CJ5 so I am set on the 4WD. A cousin in Nebraska had an extra 4WD that he had taken the engine out of & didn't need the rest of the truck. He gave it too us for free. Oh yeah it had been rolled so the cab was shot. We brought it home set it in the side yard & stripped all the good parts off & put the cab & any other usless parts in the bed of my truck & took it to the metal yard. The plan was to take the cab off the 2wd truck & make 2 trucks into one coming out with a 4WD with a 390. Well I found some 3/4 axles for a good proce so we bought those to put under it & then found a C6 & transfer case for a good price so we bought that. Now we would end up with a heavy 1/2 ton with the axles & a 390 & an automatic which is what we really wanted. Then I found a 1972 2WD with a perfect cab & front end so we decided to buy that & insted of taking the 70 2WD apart, we would fix it up with extra parts we now had & put the cab & front end from the 72 on to the 4Wd frame & end up with 2 good trucks with parts left over. So the Frame from the 4wd is sitting in my parents side yard minus the cab with extra parts in the bed & 3/4 axles sitting nearby for all the neighbors to gripe at. The 72 is down at our shop, with the C6 & transfer case sitting behind it where hopefully it won't get stolen. In the mean time since my parents are remodeling there is no garage space or time to work on the trucks.
Anyway thats all , talked more than I thought I would. I am in Littleton Colorado so anyone around here let me know. See you all around
