My PC hung up when I tried a search so please bear with me if this has been answered before.
My '00 F250 was not equipped with factory fog lights. The headlamp switch does pull out in the "on" position as it would if the pickup was equipped with these. Does that mean I have a wire somewhere under the hood that is being powered up when I pull the switch that I could use to power auxilliary lights?
The switch is probably the same one, but I don't think you have the wiring harness there for the lights. The whole setup comes as a kit, either from Ford or you can find them on e-bay.
ford is doing a set for me this weeekend on an XL, no switch, wiring harness, etc. They failed miserably the 1st time and this will be their 2nd attempt...I don't have much confidence in my stealership but they are installing the lights in compensation for a slightly dented bumper on delivery.
I just picked my truck up from Holmes Tuttle Ford in Tucson, Arizona and it looks worse than when it went in for the installation. The fog lights are crooked and the truck looks jerry-rigged now. The plastic trim piece on top of the metal front bumper is also damaged and does not snap into place. The truck has been tied up for 16 hours and still isn't right. Now the plastic trim piece is damaged and the lights look gay.
I AM AT MY WITS END!!!!!
I feel totally at mercy of this terrible dealership. I don't know what to do. My truck was damaged on delivery (when I bought it new), the service department is terrible and my complaints go unnoticed. Holmes Tuttle (Jim Click) and ford in general are suffering from some serious quality issues. This is simple stuff.
I can complain to the service writer and he can offer me a free oil change...what good does that do when I don't trust them with my truck? I want Ford to fix this for free, replace the front bumper, get me a suitable work truck for the day and compensate me for my lost time. If I complain to the general manager I still feel leveraged because I have already bought the truck. What does he care if I am happy? Are their district managers of ford quality reps that I should notify?
Jim Click has lost my business for life and possibly Ford as well (because of this dealership)...eventhough I like their vehicles. Sorry for the rant.
