Okay, 2 part question
#1, under all that dashboard stuff, theres a (in my case) white plastic "door" that moves back and fourth to switch between "vent" and "floor/defrost". I pulled everything apart to find that my door has come unhinged, like the plastic broke on the hinges. Is there a sturdy way to repair this? Where can i find a new door? Or do i have to resort to a junkyard. I just dont want to be ripping apart another truck in the cold to get a door that will last half a year.
#2, Truck used to have a/c, its an 85 F150 and of course used the r12. I removed and threw away: condenser (thing by radiator right?) compressor, both hoses. How hard would it be to get a/c back into R134a? I would also like to convert to serpentine pullies. So i'd probably need the new alternator/bracket, PS pump and bracket, ac compressor and bracket, and new condensor. But would i need a new canister and stuff, or would i be okay using the new refridgerant in there? Thanks in advanced
I saw a thread about someone using little hinges. I was wondering if anyone knows where to find that thread. I've done some searching and am not having any luck. Thanks. I figure if i get one from a junkyard, it will probably break soon also. So i'd like to either get a new one (probably not possible) or make a new one. I like the hinge idea.
