My steering column shifter linkage is worn. I have to jiggle the shifter up to get the key out and the alignment (PRNoDD1) won't line up properly. I have adjusted the linkage but it won't stay true. Aside from replacing the steering column, is there a kit where I can put a floor shifter in? This is a 1990 which had no carpets when I got it and I bought carpeting from a wrecker from one which had the 4WD shifter on the floor. I'd like to try and put a floor shift in that spot and be free of the tree shift. Is it practicle and/or possible?
