Hello folks! I have an 82' F100 with a 4.9L and a 4spd T18 gear box. Everytime I push on the clutch pedal the chassis will flex where the equalizer bar bolts to the chassis. Any ideas on how this problem can be fixed. Thx Trkrunner
Is the truck's frame actually flexing from clutch movement? Is the frame cracked in the area?
This would require welding and possibly re-enforcement to repair.
Or are the rubber cab mounts shot allowing the cab to pull closer to the frame when the clutch is depressed?
Could the floor be rusted out or cracked around the cab mount bracing and not properly supporting the cab anymore?
Take a second look and let us know.
