HP/TQ Numbers?

I have a 91 EFI 460. Running the speed density system on it, so not going to aggressive with anything.

I'm in the middle of the installation on this cam
Cam: FF X4 256H-11

Intake: Exhaust:
Valve Lift .514 .514
Duration 256 262

Exhaust : Gibson Headers, with 3" pipe
Intake: K&N
Pre 71 Timing set

Currently I have no chip or anything for tuning. I will be getting one made soon, but from the set up above with a chip what HP/TQ range will I be looking at? Will I likely need to get a FPR, or go over on the injectors for proper tuning? Will I be able to tune my truck with oversized injectors, and a light port job and still have it run correctly?

Can't give solid numbers for a chip with custom work. Only way to know for certain is to put it on a dyno, but generally you'll see a 10% horsepower gain and a 15% torque gain. Why are you looking at a fuel pressure regulator or larger injectors? Have you bored or stroked this engine, or otherwise don't something that the stock injectors don't flow enough for? Tuning with stock displacement will work with stock injectors.

Sounds like I'm wrong than. I just have heard a lot of people going to FPRS after swapping out things.

Unless you're in a situation that requires much higher air intake than stock (over bore, longer stroke, turbo or supercharger, very high revs) or there's a need to run it pig rich you won't need larger injectors.

Is there going to be any advantage of getting a custom chip burnt opposed to going with tweecer, other than being able to tune for free? Both will be able to help run a more aggressive cam, etc, right?

The advantage is you get an experienced person making the chip and you won't have to go through a learning curve to program one yourself. The disadvantage is you can't make the changes yourself.

Same thing I was thinking.

Thanks

My final question is with a chip how much more will it be able to compinsate for? For example will I be able to bore or stroke my 460? Head work? It has the speed density, and converting to MAF seems like a lot more work than I want to try for.

It can compensate depending on how much larger the displacement is and if the fuel injectors can deliver enough fuel. You really need to look into dyno tuning if you're doing that.
