Fan shrouds

Hey guys!! I could use some help. I am trying to locate 3 of the
large desert cooler radiator fan shrouds. Already checked with Ford and Obsolete Ford parts and both were discontinued. Didn't see them in Dennis Carpenter or LMC either. So if anyone has an outlet for these please let me know.

Thanks

Bushman

I got mine from a wreaking yard, you don't see them very often, but they are out there. As far as new ones, I don't have a clue.

How do you tell????????????????
I have 3 different fan shrouds, I believe they have numbers on them. What one are you looking for????????????
All 3 of these are extras, with no, cracks. My trucks allready have nice ones.

Where are you? I need one for my '73 F100 w/360 no AC. My current shroud broke at the top, and the "repair" involved loosing the entire top section. I haven't found any numbers on the shroud, however I have not thoroughly inspected it yet. I was planning to go look at a few junkyards, so how do I know which one will fit?

Hey guys I think I may have found an alternative for my own question. I found a guy locally that is just starting to produce them out of aluminum. He sais I can get it polished or not and the price was decent. I am going to go look at an insalled one this week. As far as the number goes I still have all of the pieces to a broken one I will look at it real carefully and see if I can find some numbers. I think I already know what they are but I want to verify

The one I have is: D7TA 8146 S And it goes on the 4 row extra large stock rad. The hole is offset to the pass side about 6" and is made of fiberglass.

I had a Sheetmetal shroud make for my 1970 F-100. Had it done at a shop that made duct work for central heat/air. Only $50!

Uzi... Yamaha Sleds, Honda Bikes, and Ford Trucks....

Most any "good" radiator shop will have a source for reproduction shrouds. I know they are availiable. Like a previous post said, a sheet metal shop can make one for fairly cheap, plus they dont crack or break.

Hmm... I never thought of having an HVAC shop fabricate one. That's a great tip! How much clearance should you have them leave around the fan diameter to allow for the engine torquing on its mounts?
