Hi guys. I own a 95' F150 (300/ AT/ 2WD). We tow our track car with the vehicle and I purchased the wire-in B&M shift pressure switch to help extend clutch life. Unfortunately the B&M switch seems to have taken itself out as well as the PCM. We have two symptoms now:
Code 625 - Solenoid/circuit failure - Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) current is low
Vehicle is also shifting extremely firm, so much so that I'm not driving it
I beleive that the burnt up B&M switch, along with the computer code indicates that the internal driver in the PCM for the shift pressure solenoid has failed. Is this an accurate assumption?
Question 2: I like the firmer shift points that the B&M switch offered but understand it was only firming up the shifts by tricking the PCM. I note from our wholesalers that there are two available piggyback chips for the truck: Jet Performance and Hypertech. Which of these would be better suited for our application or is there another option we should consider?
Ok, Let's try this... I have a F5AE - MTS PCM in the vehicle. Could someone possibly be so kind as to list compatible PCMs for this calibration code? None of my parts locators have this PCM calibration. The vehicle details:
